NTDA WELCOMES SPECIAL ADVISER PARASTATAL MONITORING OFFICE AND OTHERS.
The Acting General Manager, Engr. Adenrele Oni and the Management team of New Towns Development Authority recently played host to the Special Adviser Parastatal Monitoring Office; Mr Afolabi Adeyemi and his team who paid a courtesy visit to the Authority.
The Special Adviser said the visit was to foster synergy between the State Government and the Authority by creating a seamless working relationship that would culminate in the development of more satellite towns with functional infrastructure across all government schemes in the State.
Engr. Aderenle Oni expressed his excitement at receiving the Special Adviser and the Permanent Secretary to the Authority and explained the core functions and responsibilities of NTDA to the team.
Mr. Afolabi Adetayo expressed his appreciation for the warm reception accorded him and his team and explained that the sole purpose of the visit was to monitor the activities of all Parastatal within Lagos State in order to promote hard work and good service delivery. He stated that the primary function of NTDA was to develop a 21st Century housing scheme in Lagos State.
The Permanent Secretary, Mr Adeyemi Fashola on the other hand said their team was at the Authority to understudy the nomenclature, activities and possible Challenges faced by the Authority. He further explained that the Parastatal Monitoring Office would laise with the Authority going on forward to relate information about the activities of the authority and give feedback to the Governor.
Engr. Oni highlighted the following projects/schemes; Safe Court Residential Scheme at Ijanikin, Design and Calculation of Orisan water scheme at Epe, Design Preparation of Ibeju Costal City, Magotho Scheme in Badagry as some of the proposed schemes.
He explained that the Authority was working in conjunction with some other government agencies like Lands Bureau,
Ministry of Housing, Surveyor General's office, Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC) and some private developers for site selections.
The Special Adviser commended the management of the Authority and advised that they should always be at the forefront of development in the State. He also suggested that the Authority should put forward a proposal to the State Government detailing all her activities and Lagos State recommendation on ease of doing business and generating revenue for the state government.
